This album is kind of like your friend stopping over to your house unexpectedly, and you haven't cleaned up. But they're polite and don't mind; maybe they didn't notice. Maybe their house is worse.

These are just tracks I've been sitting on for a while now. I had been planning on doing "better versions" of them with "more stuff". Instead, that desire held me back from releasing anything at all. If it has to be perfect it never will be.
So here it is - trash cans and underpants and all. Short and concentrated. I wanted us all to get a dose of that old-time 'Breakfast' sound. I needed that for myself, too. I'm overdue to get back to writing sincere songs that mean something - but somehow that's more challenging than it used to be back when life was simpler and my aspirations more haphazard.

I'd like to write more songs like this, and I'd like to get go of my need to make every release a huge perfect labor. If I can let go of some hangups like that in the new year, hopefully I'll put out music more consistently.

This one's dedicated to the friends who are helping me. And to your friends who are helping you. And to you - the friend who is helping. Just don't forget.
